Kamaraj - A true leader
He was a high school drop out, due to financial conditions of his family as his father died early. He always deplored missing his education. Thats why the when he later become the chief minister of tamil nadu, he gave free education to everyother kid in his province, later he introduced the mid day meals scheme to stop any kid getting dropped our just to earn his/her own food. He was the only tamil to reach the top post of a national party ever, he was elected as the president of Indian National Congress in 1963. At that time itself he felt, the congress men are lured by the the power and misusing it, hence he told all senior minister to quit the cabinet and strenghthen the party. Had he got his education properly, he could have been more decisive and pragmatic. On this wonderful day of his birthday, on honouring this great selfless leader, let us all make it a point to help giving education to someone who could be a kamaraj oneday.

delhi metro crash - we are still amateur
Proving our amateurishness in infrastructure development the delhi metro crash site had another accident. Adding insult to the injury, another collapse in Mumbai metro site. Truly, these show how indifferent and lethargic in our approach on our infrastructure planning and execution. Transportation (people & commodities) is the heart of any economical growth and stability. We have been neglecting this for a long time, after 50 years of independance only we thought about a national freeway (still its not even closer to the free ways we have in western countries) and still constructing it. Rapid transportation in metros and state capitols is inevitable if we want to gallop in economical grown, in which we are lagging way behind the other asian rivals. Its not only the curruption ruining us, rather the lack of brain in the structure of command and control in government organisations is the real culprit. We have very little co-ordination between the state and central goverments and their organisations. Be it development, be it internal security, be it planning .. the lack of coordination propelled by the poor design of structure of government organizations is to blame. Its high time we restructure our goverment and the way it functions, knock out the unnecessary, bench warming, use of nothing hirerarchies and babus who dosent deserve to be there.

Ashes starts with a cracker
It was a cracker of a match I would say, though it was one sided as aussies were the only team had chance of winning, the english denied them by strong resistance. The gibberish aussies replied strong in the first innings as they had the lead of 239 for the final day. Though Mitchell was not having a great day, hilfinhaus and hauritz nailed the english as many of their top order went for singles. Collingwood, the lone fighter had a battle of his own and fighting hard with the bowlers until 11.3 minimum overs left for the day, and being the ninth wicket, it looks all over for england and paul left the ground, but jimmy and monty survived for all the remaining overs, where each and every ball was cheered greatly. They also made sure that they keep a lead of 13 odd runs, which would push the aussies to bat their second innings after the change over 10 mins. Hence they were fighting to be alive until 6.40 pm, since if the cross this, the aussies wont have a chance to bat as 6.50 pm was the close of match. They did acheive what they wanted, it was all thrilling end to a test match, as it is rarely. As an Indian its always a joy to watch the aussies on the backfoot, now a days, I think the average indian fan like me think that the aussies are the mortal rivals of India than the pakistanis.

zero-day : Browsers at risk
The new unpatched windows bug affects the Internet Explorer users. The "zero-day" vulnerability routes the users to malicious site through a link in spam mail , where it launches a multi-exploit hacker toolkit that includes the DirectShow attack code. Thereby the hackers can take control of victims machine remotely without the knowledge of the users. According to CSIS Security Group, the bug is in an ActiveX control, the "msvidctl.dll" file, that streams video content.
Meanwhile Firefox has released its new version 3.5 a week ago.Has lot of security features. Firebug tool helps the developers to analyse the speed of their web pages & factors that affect the page response time..
New releases, bugs and patches are going to continue . We the users should be more careful while surfing & aware of latest releases & patches!!!

Federer wins 15th grand slam
It was a hard fought title for Roger to win his 6th wimbledon title and thus overtake the legend Pete Sampras to have his 15th singles grandslam title. Andy Roddic was tough and heroic, fought a tough war against federer and many times during the course of the match he sounded stronger than federer. Federer has to wait a long time to break his serve, as he won his sets by tie breaker only where as Roddic winning by breaking federer. The one service break, the whole world was waiting for, came in the end from federer, and bringing him back his wimbledon title. I would say this was much interesting match than the previous year's final were rafa and roger fought a 5hour long battle. Andy was strong, hard to be penetrated, his defences were awesome and services were pure perfection. Roger did server more than 50 aces in this match, I would guess no one have served that much in a single match so far. Ironically, Andy had won more games than federer in the end, but the trophy has to go to the legend, as he held his nerve for two breakpoints Andy had which could have given him the title, and to capitalize on the single break point he ever had in the whole match to convert it a championship point, that was a mark of true legend.
On the great happy notes, there was a sad note for me as an Indian Tennis fan to see non of the Indian players could bring anything from wimbledon as the last hope Paes and co was beaten by Knowles and co. :(

Is IPC 377 inhuman?
The indian gay fraternity is crying out loud to reach the ears of the law makers on a change amendment on IPC 377 which classifies them as criminals. This sections enables a cop to arrest a pair of males for having consensual sexual relationship. Now, before getting in to the legitmacy of the act withing our constitution, we need to talk a lot about homosexuals let it be gays or lesbos. Sex though defined as physical relationship it normally holds a complex metaphysical scope involving more of mind than body. If sex had been simply a bodily thing I think homosexuality would not have emerged. These men and women happened to dislike (in the first place) sexuality with the opposite sex, and at the same time grow the interests to indulge in with the same sex. Blame it on harmons, blame it on delusions of childhood, blame it on adult misguidance, the MIND of these men and women have come to a conclusion that the like the same sex and dislike the opposite one... but having said that, we do have a contradictory practice in sexuality among homosexuals, where in a pair one dresses, behaves as the opposite sex and the other as the same... which boils down to the natural instinct as well. Hence, it is evident that they are confused with their sexual desire.
Now, getting back to the IPC 377, I feel this act itself is against the constitution. Most of the acts are kept inline with the british laws otherthan those went straight agains the constitution which was defined independantly. Homosexuality was seen as a sin by church, the british had derived it as a law (1860 by Lord Macaulay ), and we just kept it as it is. Evidently this law is against the constitution itself.. as I write this the same vertict has been pronounced by the Delhi high court aswell... :)

The Unbreakable
Of the 153 passengers boarded on flight IY626 in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, mysteriously one little girl survived the crash. This incident reminded me a bruce willis movie 'The Unbreakable' by the spooky story teller Night Shyamalan. The plot starts from a birth of a black child who's bones are broken while delivery. Later the hero (bruce) becomes a lone survivor of a deadly train crash, then he receives a note from Samuel Jackson, who says that he was the baby who born with the fractured bones, and suffering a from a syndrome that would break his bones even in a tiny hit. He says, he believed if he was the extreme weak of all, there should be one who is the extreme strong, and he believes that Bruce (as he survived the deadly accident) is the strongest. Story moves on with bruce's denial and moves on the to his assertion of finding himself as told by jackson, he becomes a superman kind of hero who busts muggers..etc.. and the final twist is really good, where it ends as bruce finding it out that it was jackson who purposivly made that train accident (and few more before that) in order to just find out if anyone survives, and whoever survives is the unbreakable.
More than the plot, the narration, screenplay and cinematorgraphy are the catchy items in this movie. Btw, lets pray for the 14 year old little girl who survived the deadly plane crash.
